The sculpture Freedom of Choice representing a chief holding a staff of office refers to the era of colonisation and slavery, which relocated many of our ancestors spreading our culture and tradition abroad. It questions whether the chiefs and thus my ancestors actually had a choice to decide on the fate of the people chosen as slaves or whether their hands were bound.
